Bonking in the Garden

This was the name of the seminar I attended with my 7 year old tonight!!

But before your imaginations take you too far...
It was a frog seminar.

Our frog populations are in big strife. Australia is one of the worst places in the world due to the prolonged drought and a bacteria Chytrid Fungus.

A 1 hour talk went an extra 30 minutes by which time Kelly was sitting/laying over me, arms around my neck, squirming, whispering, asking questions!! But that's not all folks.

A field trip was in order. So off we all trooped to Koomba Park.
Craig (the Frog expert) was jumping down into the marshes, shining his torchlight trying to spotlight a frog. Did you hear a Toc, Click, Cluck, Bonk, Whistle??? We heard at least 3 different frogs.

It was dark and cold but invigorating. Back to nature. I really miss my camping days.

We have a park close by...and we have bonk frogs...that's what I call them...but I never thought to think about what I was calling them! I suppose they are bonking.
