Can you see the blaze of Coprosma Karo Red hedges? Ok they may be small but hey it it aint the size that counts - yeah yeah I have been told that many times over the years :-)
60 plants planted out, some twice due to my Dad's exacting nature. Not far enough away from the path!! 5cm short - well he can be a pedantic perfectionist! I zipped my lip, let Mum and Dad 'discuss' the pros and cons and silently went about the business of digging up about 25 plants. Once they were replanted to everyones satisfaction, we built up the garden beds with more dirt and topped off with mulch. A lot of work but hey the end result is/will be fantastic.
Front garden is mostly complete. I have enough burgundy coloured plants and need a bit more yellow. So this afternoon scooted off to Bunnings for a browse with no success (after Fathers Day duties of course).
Back garden is next on the agenda. Kelly's fairy garden has been promised first. The site is already selected next to the camellia (cos fairies adore camellias!!). A few paper daisies, a selection of grasses and a plant called Fairy something or rather have already been purchased. Kelly has claimed the garden arch which has already been adorned with fairies, fairy wings and other girlie stuff. Need to chop down 2 ugly, leggy Pittosporums.
Not much will be left of the original garden, the lemon tree, a camellia, 2 azaleas, couple of ground covers and a few native fushcias.
But best news for the weekend is that I sold my tag along bike for $168.49 - can you believe it??!! Yahoo yippee, I only paid $100 for it. Now when is that shopping spree :-D
