Glimpse into the future

Kelly wants straight hair.
Kelly has very curly hair.
Kelly has hair that refuses to co-operate most mornings.

I used to call her hair a bird's nest until one day I discovered how literally she had taken me. She was about 4 years old and refused to sit under a tree at a park, frightened that the birds in the tree were going to nest in her hair!!

Kelly had her hair straightened on the weekend by her aunty. Shower time is tedious with no amount of water to be let near her hair.

She looks much older to me and it gives me a worrying glimpse into the future. She did inherit half my genes you know :-D
