Weekend ramblings

We had fantastic weather this weekend. It was quite warm, a little humid but overcast.
I had a great workout at the gym this morning, running 4 km's then doing core work then onto lower body workout. As I was doing step ups with HUUUUGE weights (well it felt like it!) my hair plastered to my head, red face, yeah I am not a pretty exerciser...I noticed a guy through the window staring at me on his way to the pool. As he turned the corner he did the ol' sneak out of the corner of his eye then a few paces on he did the full stare again!! Well I met his full stare with a poke out of my tongue!!! Luckily he found it funny and we both shared a huge grin...totally sprung!!! Gave me my first giggle of the day.
Actually I have been giggling a lot lately. And got my loud laugh happening at work. Best thing I ever did was get out of that Norgren hellhole and get my twinkle back in my eye :-)

So to enjoy the warm weather we headed off to Como House for an open garden day. Jazz band, snag in bread on the lawn, devonshire tea, croquet, lovely gardens. The flowers contrasted with the background of the Aussie bush hills. And all this within a short drive of our place. Rhododendron gardens next Saturday.

Twinkle Twinkle

I love people who have a twinkle in their eye. Lots of kids have it but fewer adults. Get that twinkle back people and hey do you know all the words??

4 kms in 30 mins

Last night I aimed to do 3 k's but I was huffing and puffing quite nicely along so decided to go for 4 k's. Umm err well it also helped that there was a nice butted guy on the tready in front of me but no matter how hard I ran I never caught up to him :D hehe

I am thinking of trying to organise a Karaoke night. I think they have Karaoke at the Knox Club on a Saturday night...anyone interested??
Go for dinner, drinks and a sing, drinks and a sing, or any combination that you feel inclined to do...

My personal Karaoke favourite which is accompanied by my frantic ABBA-like arm movements is

Y M C A

No mirrors at the YMCA Unisexual gym so hey, I am looking great in my own mind.

Managed 2km's in 16 minutes, not bad considering I was a little tender. Dont want to overdo it in these early days but I was jogging along thinking how I can slowly build up to 3 or 5km so I could enter a Fun Run again. It wasn't that long ago that I ran 10km non-stop in just over an hour.
Went on a different stepper tonight, cross between a stepper and a skiing machine. I got a little CONfused, criss crossed between stepping and skiing for about 20 minutes, must work on my style. Pity the people on the bikes behind me, I was blocking all their natural light!!
Then onto the upright bike, 5 minutes with a bit of weight then 10 minutes freewheeling, much easier on my knee.
Then lots of stretching, think that is the key.

Think I will be sore from that steppie/skiing thingie and will definitely sleep well tonight
